Donegal Town · Est. 1993
Homemade food, warm hospitality & the finest scones in Donegal
Our Story
Tucked just off The Diamond, steps from Donegal Castle, The Blueberry Tearooms has been a cornerstone of the town since Brian and Ruperta Gallagher opened its doors in 1993.
Everything that leaves our kitchen is made right here — from our renowned soups and quiches to the sticky cakes, scones, and breads that draw queues down Bridge Street on sunny days.
We seat 60 inside and welcome you outside on the pavement tables when the Donegal weather obliges.

Brian Gallagher has been the heart and soul of The Blueberry since he and his wife Ruperta opened the doors in 1993. Over thirty years on, the same warmth, the same homemade recipes, and the same commitment to quality that started it all are still very much alive.
We were delighted to welcome the team from Java Republic to Castle Street to hear a little more of our story.
